Stretching Potential: Speed, Power and Endurance

A year from now and you'll wish you had started today.

Stretching. We know we should but truthfully nobody does it or really knows how to. This can work in your favour. If nobody else stretches, you’ll stand out. You’ll stand out in terms of speed, power, endurance and recovery. This is fact.

This workshop is designed for people with no experience or particular interest in yoga. There are no fancy yoga postures or words.  If you do practice yoga though, this workshop will deepen your anatomical and clinical understanding of movement which you can then weave into your own yoga practice.

The first section of the workshop will focus on theory to give an understanding of stretching principles and then proceed to break down each stretch. The second section will take you through a stretching sequence that you are able to replicate yourself following your own exercise/running/sport activities.

We emphasise enabling you to walk away with the knowledge and ability to stretch yourself independent of a trainer.

SLOW RELEASE MASTERCLASS

We’ve been teaching Slow Release Masterclasses for years and never has one not been sold out. Pre-pandemic we taught one every six weeks or so. There are people out there who’ve never missed one. It’s their medicine. It creates a clean slate for another six weeks of life to inevitably build back up again.

We’re well overdue.

NEXT DATE RELEASED SOON

How: The class will be delivered online, via a live stream. 60 minutes before the class you’ll be emailed a joining link. You’ll be able to see and hear Paige and choose if you see and hear the other participants.

When we teach this class in the studio, we try to create a familiar vibe. Candles provide most of the light. It’s warm. It’s quiet. We’ll send you more info when you register but suggest you find a room tucked away in your home and create a similar space.

Cost: Usually $45 when delivered in the studio but this live stream version is only $24.

If you’ve never experienced a Slow Release: This two hour masterclass offers a very different experience of yoga. It’s designed around discomfort: staying with it, breathing in it and exploring it mentally. The postures are not difficult but the way they are practiced is.

Suitable for: This class is suitable for everyone as the postures can be modified in many ways. The variation/level of the posture is not the important element, transforming your relationship with discomfort is.

If you have existing studio credit you would like to use for the Slow Release or have questions please get in touch.

The Science and Art of Breathing

The Science and Art of Breathing

Our first act of life is to inhale and our last to exhale.

The Science and Art of Breathing

As we travel through life, between the first and the last breath, stress, illness, relationships and mental and emotional health often get in the way of maintaining a deep and relaxing breathing pattern. It becomes disjointed and distracted and we lose sight of the power that comes with conscious and controlled breathing.

Understand and learn how to connect with the breath to optimise wellness. During this two hour workshop you will explore:

  • Yogic view of breathing
  • Western view of breathing
  • The anatomy involved in breathing
  • The triggers for poor breathing habits

During this workshop you will experience:

  • Practices to enhance the capacity of the breath
  • Techniques for switching between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems
  • Breathing techniques to manage insomnia, depression and anxiety
  • A toolbox of techniques to use in different situations

The workshop is suitable for those who have some experience with yoga and also those who have never practiced before.

Participants will receive handouts on course content.

Cost: $60 paid in full at the time of booking. (Note: minimum of 6 participants required to run workshop).
