Stretching. We know we should but truthfully nobody does it or really knows how to. This can work in your favour. If nobody else stretches, you’ll stand out. You’ll stand out in terms of speed, power, endurance and recovery. This is fact.

This workshop is designed for people with no experience or particular interest in yoga. There are no fancy yoga postures or words.  If you do practice yoga though, this workshop will deepen your anatomical and clinical understanding of movement which you can then weave into your own yoga practice.

The first section of the workshop will focus on theory to give an understanding of stretching principles and then proceed to break down each stretch. The second section will take you through a stretching sequence that you are able to replicate yourself following your own exercise/running/sport activities.

We emphasise enabling you to walk away with the knowledge and ability to stretch yourself independent of a trainer.

During this three hour workshop you will learn:

  • The biomechanics of stretching
  • The role of breathing
  • The golden rules of stretching
  • The enemies of stretching
  • Myths around stretching
  • Current research

You will experience:

  • A hands-on breakdown of each stretch
  • A toolbox of stretches to use following your exercise activities

You will receive:

  • Workbook with course content
  • Yoga Emporium sweat towel with a unique resource to help with your stretching

Cost: $180 paid in full at the time of booking. (Note: minimum of 6 participants required to run workshop).

The 8 week program is conducted onsite at workplaces, team sporting clubs and fitness groups.

The program incorporates:

  • Three hour Stretching Potential workshop
  • Weekly group stretch session
  • The Science and Art of Breathing workshop
  • Individual participant assessments if requested

When delivered as a program the sessions are tailored specifically to your group exercise activities taking into account the biomechanics of the sport/activity and relevant stretches.
